Defect conformal blocks from Appell functions

A bstract We develop a group theoretical formalism to study correlation functions in defect conformal field theory, with multiple insertions of bulk and fields. This is applied construct the blocks for three-point scalar Starting from configuration one field, which function determined by symmetry, we explore two possibilities, adding either additional or field. In both cases it possible express terms classical hypergeometric functions, though case requires Appell’s F 4 .
